About me

About Me

As a performing music teacher based in Essex, UK, I've been providing lessons to students all over England for more than a decade. I was raised in Latvia - one of the most musical post-Soviet countries. If you ever visit Latvia, make sure to attend its Nationwide Song and Dance Celebration.

I started learning music when I was just five years old, and have been pursuing it ever since. By the age of 22, I had already obtained performance and teaching diplomas from Daugavpils Music College and Daugavpils University. I've played in orchestras, sung in choirs, and performed in rock and jazz bands. I've even composed music and recorded albums with different groups, playing a variety of instruments along the way.

As a multi-instrumentalist, I started playing piano and violin in music school at the age of five. Seven years later, I switched to double-bass and bass guitar, and later on added even more instruments to my repertoire - drums, recorder, hung, and more.

I'm also experienced in composing and recording music using Ableton and other DAWs.

With a love for different music genres, from jazz to techno, from pop to classical, from hard rock to minimal, I've performed all over Europe and the UK with choirs, orchestras, rock bands, and jazz Dixieland.

As someone who genuinely enjoys music theory, I find it to be an intriguing field of study, akin to physics and mathematics, which allows for a fascinating exploration of the world through the laws of musical harmony.
